Well….I forgot to take many pictures but we had a good and busy weekend!

After work we had a relaxing evening. We did bath night and then put the boys to bed. We were both tired too and went to bed early.

I had sweat circuit in the morning and then went to get an oil change. When I got home Joe went to my parent’s house to work on their furnace and I took the boys to Target. It is quite the task with two kiddos but we got it done!

Then it was home for lunch. My mom and Sean stopped by. Then it was nap time for the boys. My brother visited for a while.

We stayed home and played all day. Liam rounded out the evening in his new Flash undies, Superman cape, headset, and playing on his “computer.” Cutest thing ever!

We had church and then a busy day after church. We got home and everyone got out of the car and I headed to a baby shower for Joe’s cousin Natalie (and forgot to take any pictures while there!).

After that I quick went home, picked everyone back up, and we headed to my cousin’s little boy Henry’s first birthday party.

Then we went home, all of us exhausted, had dinner, and then lounged! Then it was bed time and Joe and I just relaxed and watched Netflix after the boys went to bed.

We had a good weekend and hope you did too! Have a great week ahead!

Family, Firefighters, and Cupcakes!

We had a fun weekend, but are also ready for warmer weather so we can start playing outside more!

After a long work week we all just took the evening to relax.

I had sweat circuit in the morning and when I got home we went to visit my grandma and grandpa. We had a great time chatting and spending time with them. Liam played the slot machine and won the jackpot! He was so proud and my grandparents gave him $5 for winning.

Then the boys and I ran out to my parent’s house quick to get a cup of Owen’s we left there and visit. Joe went and got an oil change.

Then we went home for lunch and nap time. After nap we played for a little bit and then headed to the fire hall for the Fire department’s annual chili feed.

Liam wanted to dress in his firefighter outfit and it was the cutest thing!

We had a great time enjoying some chili. Joe’s parent’s met us there. We looked at some fire trucks and fire fighter gear. Liam loved it.

Then we went home and put the kiddos to bed. We watched a little Netflix and went to bed too.

Liam had a rough night and woke up not looking well. He said he was fine but he just looked really tired. Joe stayed home with Liam while Owen and I went to church.

We got home and it was nap time for the boys. Then I was off again to a Spring Cleaning Essential Oil class.

After that I picked up our groceries and went home. By that time the boys were up from nap. Liam helped me make some cupcakes for Joe’s birthday. We had dinner and of course sampled the cupcakes.

Joe’s mom stopped over for a little bit too. Then we played, watched some tv, and put the boys to bed.

We had a good weekend! Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Restful weekend

We are were feeling under the weather (more me and Joe than the boys) this weekend so we did absolutely nothing to try to get better. This also means that I didn’t take many pictures.

I left work early due to feeling terrible! I tried to get some rest before picking the boys up but didn’t get much.

We spent the evening resting and going to bed early.

I still had to teach sweat circuit but I did not participate. The ladies killed it though! Then it was back home to continue resting.

We did our best to play with the kids but also both Joe and I felt awful so we spent a lot of the day watching movies.

Owen did dress up as superman and ran around the house for a little while.

That pretty much sums up our Saturday. We all went to bed early again.

I was beginning to feel a little better but Joe still wasn’t. Both boys seemed healthy too however we figured another day of rest would be best. The boys had fun making sure Joe was awake in the morning.

The boys lined up waiting for their breakfast. They are now very picky about which plate they use.

After breakfast we cleaned up the toy room so then it was the perfect place to play and make another mess. They boys had fun being cowboys and firefighters.

Thankfully it was nice outside for a little while in the morning so we went outside for a little bit to burn some energy and get some fresh air.

Then it was nap time for the boys while Joe and I relaxed and watched Ocean’s 8.

After nap it was raining outside so we spent the rest of the day inside playing. Then it was time for bath and bed.

It was a pretty uneventful weekend but that is what was needed. Have a great week and stay healthy!

Owen 12 months-18 months

I tried to update each month for the past 6 months but let’s be honest….life with two little boys is busy! What I have below is a summary of each month and Owen’s growth/development.

Month 12 (Sept 28-Oct 27)
Owen learned so much during this period of time. He is a master of walking and cruises around the house.

We tried out some dairy because the doctor said we could try introducing it again to see Owen’s response. It didn’t go well so we are staying dairy-free for now and may try again down the road.

We are giving Owen a mixture of Ripple milk and Almond milk. We try to give him higher fat foods as much as we can to make up for what he is missing from whole milk.

Owen is a blanket sucker just like Liam. He loves sucking on his swaddle blankets for comfort.

Month 13 (Oct 28 -Nov 27)
Watch out we have a climber! Owen loves climbing on chairs, tables, couches, everything! He has also grown as he can reach more things than I thought he could.

Owen is always hungry. He basically runs to the kitchen if he knows someone is in there. He also is very aware when someone is eating something that he is not (and this can be really challenging when the rest of us are eating something with dairy in it).

He also got two molars that surprised both Joe and I as we were waiting for more front teeth to come in.

Owen has learned how to throw a tantrum and he makes sure everyone around knows it. This kid wants what he wants when he wants it…..hoping to break this mentality soon (advice welcome!).

Owen is learning how to imitate sounds and moves. He has a lot of fun copying all of us at home. He definitely knows when he is being silly too. He is quite the character.

Month 14 (Nov 28-Dec 27)
Owen is becoming quite the dare-devil. He loves testing us to see how we react when he does things that may seem “dangerous.”

Owen got his next two front teeth (one on each side of his front middle teeth) and a new lower molar.

Owen got his first little trim from mom and then a few days a buzz cut from dad as we realized it would be easier to just buzz it off. He instantly looks older!

Owen got his first time out and it actually proved to be effective. He was hitting his brother. We placed him in a 20 second time out and he didn’t hit Liam after.

Owen is still a really great eater. He loves eating food and eats most things.

Christmas was fun with both boys this year. 🙂

Month 15 (Dec 28 -Jan 27)
Owen continues to have no fear. He loves the attention as well. He continues to be a really good eater and has gotten good at feeding himself with a spoon.

His 4th molar is still working it’s way up. We are lucky he is pretty good at teething and doesn’t put up too much of a fuss.

Owen is definitely noticing when he is getting different food than Liam. He also has a strong preference for peanut butter and jelly.

We were even able to spend some time outside in the snow this month which was fun. Owen had fun figuring out the snow

Owen is starting to communicate much more with words but also knows how to get his point across by pointing, nodding, and grunting/crying.

Month 16 (Jan 28 -Feb 27)
This boy is HUNGRY! All the time. We are still keeping his diet dairy free as the doctor has said it would be hard to tell the difference between a reaction to dairy and teething. We will try dairy in small doses eventually to see if he truly has a dairy allergy (something he may grow out of). As of now we are still using almond milk and ripple milk and keeping all meals dairy free.

He has learned to run from his brother when he has a toy he doesn’t want to give up. He has also learned to scream and cry when Liam takes a toy from him. He has mastered the temper tantrum with a slow dramatic fall to the ground and down to his back (by the time he gets all the way down he basically forgets why he is upset in the first place).

He is very silly. He knows when he does something funny and will repeat that and expect a reaction every single time.

He is a copy cat. He LOVES copying his brother.

Owen was diagnosed with chilblains disease which is a swelling of the blood vessels from the cold. This is seen in Owen’s fingers, specifically his index fingers. There is no cure or treatment but we have made some changes to try to keep his hands warm at all times. This is something he can grow out of and we are praying he does.

We are working on words more with Owen. Sometimes he will repeat us but for the most part he isn’t all that interested in talking. He says his version of mom, dad, liam, grandpa, grandma, no, whoa, wow, uh-oh, and I’m sure a few more words regularly.

Month 17 (Feb 28 -Mar 27)
Owen is beginning to communicate much more. He isn’t the clearest communicator but it is getting way easier to tell what he is saying or what he wants. He is really good at shaking his head yes and no which is extremely helpful.

He continues to suck on his blanket and has begun rubbing his ear with it as well.

He is becoming a mini-Liam. He wants to do everything Liam does and will copy Liam all day every day.

Owen is still a really good eater and is still dairy-free. We are hoping to talk at his 18 month appt about re-introducing dairy and see how it goes. Hoping he grows out of it or has already grown out of it. We shall see.

Owen got another haircut this month. I can’t believe how much a haircut makes him look so much older!

Owen has started to prefer Joe lately. Anytime we are relaxing on the couch he may start by sitting with me but then will want to go sit with Joe.

Owen loves attention and continues to be fearless. He loves jumping of the couch and standing on things he shouldn’t.

Owen also loves being outside. Now that spring is here he has been amazed by the outdoors and loves walking around. It’s hard to get him to go back inside.

March 28th, 2019 —Happy 18 months Owen!!

A longer weekend with a trip to the zoo and some cousin time

We had a fun and long weekend! I took the day off Friday because I start a new job on Monday! Joe was off too!

After work I got home and played with the boys. It was a relaxing evening as a family before going into our 3-day weekend.

We got up in the morning, picked up Uncle Blake, and headed to the zoo. We had so much fun showing Blake all the cool animals.

We even went outside for the first time since getting our zoo pass for Christmas. It is baby farm animal month so we went to see the babies. So cute! We can’t wait for it to get a little warmer so we can spend more time outside.

We got the boys home for nap. Liam was tired after he woke up and snuggled into some blankets. Owen ended up napping past 4pm! The zoo is exhausting!

Then our niece Brynn came over for a sleepover while my brother was out of town and my sister-in-law had my other nieces gymnastics meet. The boys adore Brynn.

We had a fun evening together and then put all the kiddos to bed without issues (others than a few tears from Brynn and Owen).

I had sweat circuit in the morning. Then we basically just had a play day with Brynn.

Brynn still takes 2 naps a day so our routine was a little crazy with Brynn napping in the morning and then the boys in the afternoon and then her again after that. Joe’s sister Erin and our niece Kameryn stopped by while Brynn was taking her morning nap.

After the boys nap, Brynn took a nap. We played and the boys made a massage train.

We had a fun evening with more play time and then it was bed time for Owen. Then Brynn got picked up and then Liam went to bed.

I barely took any pictures! We went to church in the morning. We had lunch and nap time after that. I went for a run (which is the only picture I took all day). Liam woke up from his nap but Owen ended up sleeping until 4:30 when I finally decided to wake him up.

We had a relaxing evening, played, did bath time, and then put the kiddos to bed. Then Joe and I prepared for our first day of work (we both got new jobs —yay!).

Hope you all have a great week!!
