I was able to have a nice 4-day weekend at home with my family. It was so nice to have the time with them and to just relax.
Happy birthday to Owen! We let Owen open his gifts when Liam and him both woke up. Liam might have been more excited than Owen was but it was so cute.
There were many photo shoots throughout the day starting with Owen in his birthday bear shirt and “one” banner. Brother bear Liam wanted a picture too.
We spent the morning playing and relaxing. I had a chiropractor appt in the morning and so did Joe shortly after me so we swapped kid duty during that time.
Then it was lunch time and then nap time for the boys. After nap we went to Brogan’s tennis match (she is the boys’ daycare provider’s daughter and also my bestie Molly’s sister). Molly coaches tennis too so we were able to see her in action. We met Annie at the tennis courts. It was chilly and windy. We stayed as long as we could but Owen started getting fussy so we left before the match was over.
When we got home photo shoot number 2 happened with Owen in his final monthly tie.
Liam found his old Halloween costume (which will be Owen’s costume this year…I think). He had to put the monster hat on and he thought it was so funny.
We had dinner and then hung out as a family the remainder of the evening. It was the perfect day celebrating Owen.
I had sweat circuit in the morning and then hustled home to be with the boys and Joe. I had A LOT of cleaning to do before Owen’s birthday party on Sunday. I started with some of my laundry and then started working on other areas of the house.
We had lunch and then at nap time I did some more cleaning. After nap me and the boys packed up and headed out to my friend Laura’s house to meet her new baby girl Veda. Joe went out hunting.
When we got to Laura’s Liam was really quiet and shy but he and her oldest daughter Aria went to her room to play and he seemed to have fun. I was able to hold sweet baby Veda who is tiny and adorable and just so sweet!
Liam was pretty quiet most of the visit but when we left he said he had so much fun so that is good. He is just too funny.
When we got home I made dinner for the boys quick, we watched some of a movie and then I put them to bed.
Joe got home shortly after I put Liam to bed. I had to bake Owen’s smash cake and cupcakes before calling it a night.
Birthday party day which meant getting up to clean and frost the smash cake and cupcakes. I think I did a pretty good job on his cake!
Joe and I did some power cleaning throughout most of the day. We got the house all cleaned up and decorated for the party. We watch the Packer game while both boys napped and we continued to get ready.
I got some quick pictures of Owen’s birthday shirt before the party started.
He wasn’t so sure he wanted a birthday party. He wanted me or Joe the whole time. We did his smash cake and he was not showing off for anyone. He did end up eating some of it but Liam helped him a little.
We are thankful for all those that came and celebrated with us. It was really great to have ALL of our family there (just missing my two oldest nieces).
My brother gave Owen a birthday blessing and then everyone was on their way. We had the remainder of the evening to relax and do post-party clean up.
Owen got matching jammies with Liam and the two of them together are adorable!
After the boys went to bed I was exhausted and Joe and I just lounged and watched Netflix.
So thankful for another day off to do nothing! I finished party clean up and enjoyed the day with my kiddos and Joe. Annie stopped by to say hi and drop off Owen’s birthday gift.
Later after nap we had Owen’s 1 year appt which went well and he is a healthy growing little boy.
Have a great week everyone and happy October!
