It is so hard to believe that our baby is 1 already. This past year has gone by faster than ever. We are so blessed to have had Owen as part of our family for a year now and can’t wait to continue watching him grow and learn.
Owen just seems to continue to grow so much. At his last appointment he was 18 lbs 12 oz and 30 inches long. He is still so long!
Owen has now transitioned to milk, however since he needs to be dairy-free we are having to try alternatives. He is drinking almond milk throughout the day. In the morning I am mixing almond milk with Ripple milk which has a higher fat content and more nutrition than almond milk. We are also giving him foods higher in fat to make up for what he is missing from whole milk.
Owen is regularly having 3 meals a day and loves real food. We try to give him what we are eating unless it has dairy. He is a really good eater and demands his food when he is hungry.
Owen loves using his sippy cup and uses this during the day. He does still use a bottle for his milk in the morning but that is all.
Owen has been sleeping through the night. We are also at 2 naps per day. We have a general nap pattern now that consists of a morning nap around 9 for about an hour and an afternoon nap usually around 12-1 ish for about 2 hours.
Owen has the four teeth.
Owen has started walking! He started with a few steps here and there but just last week he decided he wants to walk more. He has taken up to 10 steps in a row and will bring himself back to standing after falling and start walking again. He is getting better and better every day.
He is still crawling when he is in a hurry and can’t walk fast enough. He cruises when he crawls!
He babbles a lot and enjoys yelling and growling. He says mama and dada but other than that hasn’t really said any recognizable words.
Owen has learned so much and will imitate most things you do. He waves “hi,” gives kisses, lays his head on your shoulder to be “so nice,” does “so big,” claps his hands, fake laughs, cries, and coughs, and new to this month is blowing kisses.
Owen and Liam are interacting more and more as Owen grows. Owen wants everything to do with Liam and will follow him around the house.
Owen is definitely a mama’s boy.
