Owen is 6 months old!

Well that flew by! I can’t believe Owen is already 6 months old (halfway to a year)! It seems like it happened so suddenly.

Owen is continuing to grow and seems long and skinny still. He doesn’t have his 6 month appt until next week so we will see what he measures in at.

Owen is still drinking breast milk. He is eating about 4 times a day now.

We also started some solid foods in the past couple weeks. We have been giving him rice cereal mixed with breast milk which he likes. He has tried peas, carrots, green beans, apples, bananas, butternut squash and sweet potatoes. He seems to enjoy them all. I’ve expected some kind of reaction to at least one of the foods above but he doesn’t react at all. He literally has been acting like he has been eating solids for months. He loves it!

Owen has been sleeping through the night again. We are also at about 3 naps a day. His naps aren’t very consistent yet so we are working on getting a schedule figured out.

No teeth as of right now however there is A LOT of drool. His hands and toys are constantly in his mouth.

Owen can still roll from belly to back and from back to belly but doesn’t do it all that frequently. He is holding his chest up better on his own now and not needing his arms to assist.

He has gotten really good at throwing toys off his high chair and getting us to pick them up.

He smiles, coos, babbles, and giggles. When he cries it is typically quite weak and is only if he is hungry, tired, or needs his diaper changed. He is generally a super happy baby and we are very thankful.

Owen still adores Liam and wiggles and squirms to get into a position where he can see his brother.

  • Mom/Dad/Liam
  • Being rocked
  • Mama milk
  • Dad’s singing
  • Swaddle blankets
  • Jumping in his exersaucer or jumper
  • Wubbanub
  • Zippadee-Zip sleeper
  • Being naked -used to hate it now he loves it
  • Bath time (in the big tub) -he used to dislike bath time but now that I learned he likes the freedom of a big tub he loves it (but does not make it an easy task)!

  • Being cold
  • Waiting for milk (especially in the morning)
  • Waiting to be spoon fed —he is bossy!
  • Having a dirty diaper

Just another weekend

We had another really good weekend. We weren’t too busy but just the right amount of busy. It was nice!

I was able to leave work a little early and spend some extra time with my little ones and Joe. We were fighting fires and it was awesome! I love Liam’s developing imagination.

Liam is also learning how to take pictures on my phone so he snapped a keeper of Joe.

We had a relaxing evening!

We were up nice and early. Liam loves snuggling his little brother (sometimes a little too much).

After some morning snuggles I was off to Sweat Cirtcuit. Small class but good workout!

Joe went to help a friend when I got home so it was just me and the boys. Owen practiced sitting some more, he is getting really good.

The boys were on opposite schedules so when Liam napped Owen was up and when Liam woke up, Owen napped. That always makes it hard to get anything done.

I had promised Liam a post-nap sucker and boy was he happy about it.

Joe’s mom stopped over to visit once both boys were up. Liam took some pictures of Grandma and of mom and dad with “mean faces.”

We decided to go to Ready Randy’s for dinner with Joe’s parents.

After dinner we picked up our babysitter Brogan. I fed Owen and put him to bed so all she had to worry about was putting Liam down. Then we were off to our friend Seth’s 30th birthday party. It was nice to go out without any kids and just hang out.

We didn’t stay out very late but it was still fun!

Both boys actually slept in, which at our house means slept a little past 6am! It was great since we were up a little later the night before.

I love how much Liam likes to be by Owen and how much Owen adores Liam. Liam even did some morning yoga for Owen.

Liam had found one of my purses and now it is his. He uses it to “fight fires.” He just cracks me up!

Liam got a haircut in the morning for pictures.

We had Owen’s 6 month pictures as well as Liam’s 2 and a half year pictures and family pictures. To my surprise they went really well and I can’t wait to see them!

After pictures Liam wanted to wear his buck hoodie. He ran around being a little buck while Owen laid around just being cute!

Look at all the love! My heart!

Liam and Joe had some “sumo pillow fights.” Liam bounces right off and flies back. He thinks it’s the greatest.

Both boys napped at the same time so that meant me and Joe napped also. Owen woke up early from his nap and was clearly still tired so I gave him some snuggles and he fell back asleep.

He woke up happy and loving his mama!

We had some snapchat filter fun after nap while we played.

I had an after dinner scoop of vanilla almond butter (so good) and Liam caught me and insisted he have his own spoonful. Yum!

Once the boys were in bed we relaxed and headed to bed ourselves.

It was a great weekend! Hope the week treats you well!

Birthday, St Patrick’s Day, and a relaxing Sunday

We had a busy but good weekend!

After work we hustled to my brother’s house for my niece’s birthday party.

She is so adorable and sweet.

Then we went home, put the boys to bed, and headed to bed early.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! Owen had his adorable shamrock jammies. Then….he had a blowout so he got an early morning bath.

Joe got some snuggles with my TWO blanket suckers! Owen has just started sucking on his blanket occasionally just like his big brother.

All this before Sweat Circuit/Zumba. We had a great class and some of us dressed in green.

When I got home Liam was doing some “yoga” with Joe. Seriously adorable! And I got some Owen snuggles.

The parade was at 2 so we put Liam down for a short nap. I got me and Owen ready in our green gear.

Then we headed off to Joe’s sister’s house for the parade and a party. The parade goes right in front of her house so it was perfect.

Liam was totally into the parade but expressed no emotions about it. He was likely still a little tired.

My bestie Annie was in the parade so it was fun to see her and all the other great floats and costumes.

After the parade we quick ran home to feed Owen and Joe ran to the store to get a few things. I tried to get a picture of the boys in their shirts.

I had some fun with snap chat as well. I love the filters!

Then we went to my parents house where Joe made bacon and bleu burgers for us. So good! We had planned to leave the boys their for a sleepover but as the night went on I felt less interested in hitting up the town and more interested in lounging at home.

We left Liam because he was excited for a sleepover but we took Owen home and headed to bed early.

I grabbed Owen when he woke up in the morning and snuggled him in bed. I didn’t think he would fall back asleep but he did and I was able to get some extra rest.

My mom ended up getting sick so Joe ran to get Liam right away in the morning.

We spent the majority of the day lounging around and playing.

It was really relaxing to just hang out at home after 2 busy days.

Then we quick went to look at a house (for fun) and pick up Jersey Mike’s subs for dinner.

We then went home to eat our subs and have a lazy evening.

I hope the luck ‘o the Irish was with you this weekend and you have a wonderful week ahead!

A fantastic weekend!

We didn’t have many plans this weekend but ended up doing a lot of fun things!

It was a typical Friday for us filled with play time and relaxing. Wouldn’t trade it for the world!

I had some snuggle time with the boys and then it was off to Sweat Circuit. It was a killer workout again and lots of people showed up. It was very motivating.

After workout I rushed home, showered quick, got Owen dressed and headed off to Bible Study with my friends. It was our second session.

Owen and Raelynn got to hang out while we discussed the readings.

When I got home both boys went down for nap. Joe left to help his friend chop some wood so I was left with a quiet house. I took advantage of it and made some laundry soap and cleaned the kitchen.

Owen was the first to wake up and then Liam. Shortly after the boys woke up Joe came home.

We decided to go out for dinner and headed to Rusty’s. We hadn’t been there in a while and it was really good! Both boys were on their best behavior too which makes the experience more enjoyable.

We hustled home to lounge for the remainder of the evening.

I was definitely feeling the loss of that hour even though I still think I got plenty of sleep. Must have been a mental thing.

Both boys woke up super happy. Liam was using his binoculars to look for bunnies and then also found a gaming headset where he said he is “uncle blake.” Too cute.

After hanging around for a little bit Joe and I decided we should go to the zoo!

Both boys slept on the way there.

We had so much fun once we got there. Liam was so excited to see a shark and a sea turtle.

He thought the monkeys were being naughty because they were chasing each other. We told him that’s how they play.

It was so much fun showing him all the animals. He said his favorite was the bear.

Owen was tuckered out after a long morning at the zoo. It took Liam a long time to fall asleep for nap.

After nap my friend came over to look through some maternity clothes. So happy to share them with her because they can be so expensive and are so temporary!

Liam decided we should have breakfast for dinner so I made scrambled eggs, pancakes, and bacon.

Joe had to go to a work meeting so me and the boys wrapped up the evening with play time and snuggles. They were both so well-behaved which I was thankful for.

I was exhausted so I watch New Girl on Netflix and then started getting ready for bed just as Joe was getting home.

We had a really great weekend. Hope you did too! Have a great week ahead!

A weekend of family fun!

We had a fun weekend filled with lots of family time!

After work, like always, we had a nice relaxing evening. Liam and I had some fun looking at “sillys” (snapchat filters).

Other than that it was a quiet night.

The boys were up nice and early so we got to have some play time/snuggle time before I was off to teach class.

Sweat circuit and zumba were great! I made a pretty tough sweat circuit and I could tell I really pushed myself. Love workouts like that!

After exercising I quick ran home to rinse off and then we headed to Kids Oasis in Stillwater for some indoor play fun!

Joel, Kameryn, and Luke met us there to play too. The kids had a blast. There are so many different toys there.

We went home for lunch and nap time after Kids Oasis. While the boys napped I tried to get a few things done around the house.

After nap it was so nice out we decided to go for a walk. Owen’s first walk outside and our first time using the double stroller. It was a little breezy but still so nice to be outside.

Liam was helping Joe cook and then had to make a phone call with his “baby” bear. This kid just cracks me up!

We spent the remainder of the evening lounging at home and playing.

Again we had some bright and early play time. We are raising some early risers!

We then were off to church. After church we went to Tin Bins with Joe’s family. I am sweets free for March so I had to have some strong will power to avoid the cinnamon roll Liam was enjoying. It looked so good!

After Tin Bins it was home for nap time! Owen was dressed super cute but then he had a blow out….it tends to happen quite frequently. So then it was outfit change time.

Owen decided he didn’t want to nap at the same time as Liam. He also decided he wanted to be snuggled and not in his crib.

After nap we headed over to my parents to hang out and have dinner. Liam was so excited that “Bumpa Mite” was going to be home.

Both boys had fun playing.

After that it was home for lounge time and bed time.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!
